No, anyone with a valid ID can buy recreational (aka “adult use”) cannabis at any time. However, if you’re trying to fill a medical marijuana prescription, you’ll need a medical card from the Vermont Cannabis Control Board. To obtain this card, you must get a note from your primary doctor and have an approved condition, such as glaucoma, cancer, AIDS, or PTSD.
Also, if you live outside of Vermont, keep in mind that you can’t transport cannabis across state lines because it’s federally illegal.
Vermont law stipulates how much of each type of cannabis you can buy in a single transaction. The amounts are 56 grams of flower, 28 grams of hashish, or the equivalent. Our staff members can help you determine how much of each product you can buy.
Adults 21 and older can buy adult-use weed from any licensed dispensary.

No, it’s illegal to use cannabis on public property. Wait until you get home or to another private residence (i.e., a friend’s house).
